Bone Broth

Anyone who knows Max will tell you she is a HUGE fan of bone broth…it is seriously one of those most nourishing dietary staples.

So what makes it so amazing?

It contains minerals such as: calcium, magnesium and phosphorus which all support our immune function.

But that’s not all it also contains powerful compounds that assist in the production of collagen- hello glowing skin, strong nails and luscious locks! The amino acids (glycine, glutamine and proline to name a few) that are present in broth are also super supportive for our guts!

The best part is it’s easy to make at home and definitely won’t break the bank ;)!

– 1.5-2kg organic beef or chicken bones

– 1 tbsp Apple Cider vinegar (we use Braggs which you can actually get at woolies or Hilbilby culture)
Filtered water- amount varies on crock pot or slow cooker size
– 1 carrot
– 1 onion
– 2 celery stalks
– 2 bay leaves

Pre-cook bones until golden in the oven on 125c

Place cooked bones in slow cooker or crock pot, add water until covered

Add apple cider vinegar and veg

Cook on low for 24hrs until liquid is golden

Once cooked, strain and store in a glass airtight container in the fridge, you could also freeze broth into cubes and use in cooking or smoothies.

Enjoy and make sure you tag us in your re-creations!
